Tired of your Fitbit? Smart Jewelry is the Solution

I am tired of my Fitbit.  I look at my wrist with its simple, black band day after day.  Sure, I could switch it up and try a different band color, but it is still a plastic band sitting on my wrist.  It doesn’t make a statement, it has no personality.  It just is.

It seems everybody today has a Fitbit.  Different styles, colors, everyone tracking their activities.  And, its great!  The fact that people are doing something to improve their health, to motivate themselves to be more active.  It’s why I wear one every, single day.  But, it is getting old.

I wake up in the morning, get dressed, some days I even think I look good and then I put on my Fitbit.  It feels like an anchor weighing me down.  My feeling of looking good disappears instantly.  But, the alternative is not tracking my steps and that just isn’t an option.  Nothing beats that moment when my Fitbit vibrates signalling success at meeting my daily step count!

But, this week I learned of something new – smart jewelry.  Where have I been hiding?  How did I not know such technology exists?   It seems so obvious!  Of course there are fitness trackers that look great AND count steps!

After a few minutes of research I discovered all sorts of smart jewelry.  One of my favorites is the Bellabeat Leaf Nature Tracker.  I am one of those love-the-earth, meditation, yoga wannabees.  So, the Nature version of the Leaf is my favorite.  I put it on and feel connected to the earth.  But, if I were a fashionista I might prefer the Bella Leaf Urban Health Tracker.  It embraces a more sophisticated, city-chic feel – and it does all the same things as the Nature Tracker! Both are made of stainless

steel and natural wood and can be worn as a necklace or you can buy bracelet accessories for less than $25.00.  You can choose the color of wood and the color of the stainless steel.   You can even clip it on to your clothing.  It is incredibly versatile and sometimes looking good is a priority.  The Leaf tracks your activity, your sleep, your menstrual cycle, acts as an alarm and even teaches you how to meditate!  Functional and fun – I love it!

And then there are smartrings.  How cool is it that you have the option of throwing a ring on your finger and heading out the door?  I love that the ring allows you to work out hard, maybe run that marathon without the sweaty feeling of rubber on your skin that happens when wearing a Fitbit.  Sleek, stylish and simple.  Check out Motiv’s ring.  It is like a tiny, little Fitbit and measures your steps, active minutes and sleep.  Check out mymotiv.com for more information.  Pre-orders are now being taken for summer 2017 shipping!

The best thing about being sick of my Fitbit is all the new products I have discovered.  The options really are limitless!  And somehow I find myself liking my Fitbit a little bit more.  Did you know that you can buy Fitbit

accessories outside of the colored plastic wristbands?  They come in leather and stainless steel of all colours!  In fact, I am ordering a new band tonight!

So, today I find myself less sick of my Fitbit.  In fact I love it!  Love how I throw it on and head out for a walk or to the gym.  Love how it makes me feel healthy and puts me in a workout mood.  Love the practicality of the rubber band, the classic black color and its reliability.  I am ready to sweat with my Fitbit!

But, on those days where I want to look good, where looking good actually matters, I love the option of putting on a cool necklace or simple ring, something that actually makes my outfit look better – nothing beats smart jewellry.  Fitbit is my go to everyday wear, but smart jewellry…. I am happy to have those options!
